Sybilla Technologies designs, builds and operates robotic optical observatories for monitoring objects in space. The company specializes in complete systems, software for automated data acquisition, analysis, and scheduling networks of sensors. We work in the domains of Space Situational Awareness, Space Surveillance and Tracking, Space Traffic Management, stellar and planetary research, education, and commercial on-demand observations.    

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to take ownership of key accounting processes and ensure accurate, compliant, and reliable financial records. You will handle day-to-day accounting, coordinate external providers, resolve complex accounting matters, and improve processes as the company grows. 

Your responsibilities:

  • Own selected accounting processes and support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing.  
  • Ensure accurate and complete accounting records. 
  • Prepare account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.  
  • Maintain the fixed assets register and oversee depreciation and capitalization. 
  • Verify inventory and warehouse documentation and support stock counts.  
  • Coordinate and review work performed by external accounting providers.  
  • Support the gradual transfer of accounting processes in-house.  
  • Support accounting for grants and co-financed projects.  
  • Prepare documentation for audits, inspections, and public institutions.  
  • Support complex Polish and international accounting and tax matters.  
  • Improve accounting processes and contribute to ERP optimization and automation.  
  • Provide accounting guidance to internal teams and support less experienced colleagues 

Requirements:

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related fields. 
  • Min. 5 years of professional accounting experience, ideally in manufacturing, engineering, technology, or project-based companies. 
  • Experience independently managing end-to-end accounting areas. 
  • Strong knowledge of the Polish Accounting Act and accounting principles. 
  • Experience supporting audits, inspections, and statutory reporting activities. 
  • Practical experience in fixed assets accounting. 
  • English proficiency B2 or higher 
  • Experience working with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills. 
  • Very good analytical skills, attention to detail, and a strong sense of ownership. 

Nice to Have

  • Experience coordinating external accounting providers.  
  • Knowledge of inventory and warehouse accounting.  
  • Experience with grants or publicly funded projects, such as NCBR, PARP, or EU-funded initiatives.  
  • Experience with ERP implementation, process improvement, or automation.  
  • Knowledge of international transactions or experience in an international environment.

  • Compensation: PLN 12,000-14,000 gross/month (UoP), depending on experience and skills.
