IT Operations Specialist

About Sybilla Technologies

Sybilla Technologies designs, builds, and operates robotic optical observatories for monitoring objects in space. We specialize in end-to-end systems and software for automated data acquisition, analysis, and scheduling across networks of sensors.

Our work spans Space Situational Awareness, Space Surveillance & Tracking, Space Traffic Management, as well as stellar and planetary research, education, and commercial on-demand observations. By combining cutting-edge technology with advanced software, we enable faster, smarter, and more reliable insights from space.

We’re hiring a senior, hands-on IT Operations Specialist to help us run and automate a fleet of Windows computers in small, distributed networks (remote sites, limited bandwidth, mixed hardware). You’ll keep endpoints stable, fast to deploy, easy to recover, and easy to support—so downtime is rare and never “mysterious”.

This is a highly practical role focused on provisioning and hardening Windows devices, controlling patching, building repeatable deployment and recovery processes, monitoring system health, owning incidents endtoend, and continuously improving the toolchain through automation and clear documentation.

This is a hybrid role, you must be able to get on-site within 60 minutes of Bydgoszcz when needed (hardware swaps, urgent recovery, site work).

Your Responibilities

  • Ensure continuous availability, stability, and performance of distributed Windows workstations, servers, and connected network segments.
  • Proactively detect, diagnose, and resolve hardware and system issues before they impact users.
  • Own complex incidents endtoend, identifying root causes across hardware, OS, and network layers.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and local technicians to restore failing sites or devices.
  • Validate physical infrastructure (cabling, power, environment, device integrity) during builds and troubleshooting.
  • Work closely with installation and field teams to identify and mitigate installation defects affecting availability.
  • Act as an escalation point for 1st and 2nd line support and provide structured guidance.
  • Deliver remote support and perform occasional onsite interventions when required.
  • Define, implement, and continuously improve standardized processes for provisioning, patching, imaging, and recovery.
  • Improve standardization, automation, and operational documentation (e.g. scripting, templates).

Requirements

  • 6-8+ years of hands-on IT support or operations experience.
  • Windows endpoints and servers (50+ devices).
  • Distributed or industrial environments.
  • Network setup and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with RMM tools.
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT / Computer Science or equivalent handson experience.
  • English proficiency for technical documentation and communication.
  • Proven experience owning incidents endtoend and delivering durable fixes.
  • Experience with system deployment and recovery at scale.
  • Ability to create and maintain clear operational documentation.
  • Ability to reach Bydgoszcz sites within ~60 minutes.
  • Category B driving licence.
  • Occasional availability for international travel.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with remote/distributed environments or limited-connectivity sites.
  • Endpoint fleet management or patching tools.
  • Scripting or automation experience.
  • MikroTik knowledge.
  • Relevant certifications (ITIL, CompTIA, Microsoft, MikroTik).
  • Exposure to hybrid management tools (e.g. Azure Arc).

Terms of employment

  • Hybrid role with the requirement to reach the Bydgoszcz offices within approximately 60 minutes when needed, and readiness to travel between office locations as required.
  • Compensation: 15,000-17,000 gross PLN/month (UoP) or 116-132 PLN/hour net (B2B), depending on experience and skills.
  • Work in a rapidly growing company within the prestigious Space industry.
  • Fulltime position with flexible working hours.
  • Private medical care (LuxMed) and sports package (Multisport).
  • Structured onboarding with dedicated support during the first weeks.
