Observer/Space Data Analyst

The company specializes in the complete systems, software for automated data acquisition, analysis, and scheduling of networks of sensors. We work in the domains of Space Situational Awareness, Space Surveillance and Tracking, Space Traffic Management, Near Earth Objects, stellar and planetary research, education, and commercial on-demand observations.

Your Responibilities

  • Leader of operational space safety data delivery to a renowned customer.  
  • Creating and executing complex observation campaigns.  
  • Performing astrometric data analysis astrometric of satellites, space debris and asteroids.  
  • Supporting observations of fragmentation, launch, payload separation, station keeping, catalogue maintenance, attitude monitoring, maneuvers, collision avoidance.  
  • Writing technical notes and documentation on the executed observing projects.  
  • Participating in contacts with customers.  
  • Monitoring data quality, velocity and working on their improvement.  
  • Working with other Departments (e.g. Software Engineering) – to create new scheduling strategies, reporting tools, databases, new insights into the data gathered.  
  • Diagnostics, safety and security of robotic observatories.  
  • Writing and updating training materials.  
  • Leading training sessions.  
  • Improving the Operations department excellence in service.  
  • After initial training, participation in on-duty service, may require working outside of usual business hours in case of emergencies or finetuning sensors outside of EU time zone. 

Requirements

  • Passion for space observations.  
  • Higher education in engineering or STEM (bachelor or master – preferred)  
  • Previous experience in leading observation campaigns, analyzing optical data (photometry and/or astrometry).  
  • Track record on executing tasks/projects on time and with quality.  
  • Diagnostics of complex systems and finding root cause.  
  • Proven track record of planning and organizing larger tasks, dividing them into smaller ones.  
  • Very good command of the English language in writing and speech (candidate should be able to read and write technical documentation).  
  • Analytical competences.  
  • Good knowledge of Office or similar office suite.  
  • Ability to read, interpret and visualize data (diagrams, charts, graphs), draw own conclusions.  
  • Attention to details and spotting patterns.  
  • Ability to work as a team to overcome operational obstacles.  
  • Work permit for EU.  

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of programming or scripting (C#, Python, PowerShell). 
  • Knowledge of databases (SQL). 
  • EU/NATO Security clearance to the level Secret or capability to obtain it within 9 months. 
  • Communicative Polish language in writing and speech.

Terms of employment

  • Remote employment model (Bydgoszcz/Zielonka) – occasional visits. 
  • Permanent employment contract. 
  • Salary: 9000 – 12000 PLN gross, depending on your experience and qualifications. 
  • The candidate will be offered compensation relative to his/her experience and skills.   
  • The candidate will have a specialist assigned as a mentor during the initial weeks of employment.   
  • The candidate will have an advisor for selection and monitoring of career development paths.   
  • Private medical care and Multisport on FTE.
