Sybilla Technologies designs, builds and operates robotic optical observatories for monitoring objects in space. The company specializes in the complete systems, software for automated data acquisition, analysis and scheduling of networks of sensors. We work in the domains of Space Situational Awareness, Space Surveillance and Tracking, Space Traffic Management, stellar and planetary research, education, and commercial on-demand observations.   

About the role

Join our team as an Electronic and Optical Devices Service Technician working on the assembly, maintenance, and servicing of optical and electronic systems for professional and scientific use. 

The role involves practical, workshop-based work with devices, technical documentation, and electrical diagrams. 

You will focus on

  • Assembling, installing, and integrating optical and electronic equipment. 
  • Supporting diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and repairs. 
  • Installing electrical wiring, electronic components, and basic automation systems. 
  • Participating in on-site service trips (customer locations). 
  • Monitoring stock levels of tools and consumables to keep the workshop running smoothly. 
  • Working closely with engineers and senior technicians during system integration and testing. 

Our Requirements

  • Experience in assembling and servicing electrical and electronic devices 
  • Basic knowledge of electronics, automation, and electrical systems 
  • Ability to read electrical diagrams and technical documentation 
  • Confidence using workshop tools such as screwdriver, drill, riveter, grinder, soldering iron 
  • Secondary technical or vocational education 
  • Valid SEP electrical qualification up to 1 kV 
  • Category B driving licence 
  • Communicative English is a plus (documentation, service trips)

  • A genuine interest in space, optics, astronomy, or advanced technologies 
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn new systems and technologies
