Build satellite systems that matter

We are looking for a Satellite System Engineer & Design Specialist who will take ownership of key engineering activities across the entire satellite lifecycle — from technical requirements and system design, through supplier collaboration and procurement, to integration, compliance, and delivery. This role sits at the intersection of systems engineering, satellite development, and technical project leadership.

You will work closely with internal engineering teams, external suppliers, and strategic stakeholders to ensure that complex satellite programs are delivered successfully and meet both technical and operational objectives. Your work will directly influence the design of satellite platforms and the future development of Sybilla Technologies’ sensor capabilities.

This position offers a rare opportunity to contribute to real satellite systems in a growing space technology company, while maintaining a broad technical perspective across spacecraft architecture, subsystem integration, risk management, and regulatory compliance.

If you enjoy solving multidisciplinary engineering challenges, coordinating complex technical activities, and turning ambitious concepts into operational space systems, we’d love to hear from you.

Your Responibilities:

  • Leading the technical project management of satellite procurement, design, and construction activities,
  • Coordinating and support the development of satellite-based solutions for Sybilla Technologies’ sensor systems,
  • Managing technical documentation throughout the project lifecycle, including documentation change control processes,
  • Defining, writing, reviewing, and maintaining technical specifications and engineering documentation,
  • Identifying, assessing, tracking, and mitigating technical and programmatic risks,
  • Coordinating technical activities with suppliers, subcontractors, and key stakeholders,
  • Supporting compliance with ISO standards, regulatory frameworks (including EUSST and JCO requirements), and applicable military standards,
  • Ensuring technical consistency across project requirements, design solutions, and implementation activities.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Master’s degree in an engineering-related field,
  • Proven experience in satellite design and development projects,
  • Strong knowledge of CAD tools and experience in 2D/3D design,
  • Experience in project and technical documentation management,
  • Ability to create, review, and maintain technical specifications,
  • Experience in technical risk management and mitigation,
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to negotiate with suppliers and stakeholders,
  • Good command of English, enabling effective communication in an international environment.

Nice to Have

  • Expertise in optical systems or radio-frequency systems,
  • Hands-on experience working with spacecraft or other complex hardware systems,
  • Familiarity with satellite subsystems such as:
  • Attitude Determination and Control Systems (ADCS)
  • Power systems
  • Communications systems
  • Propulsion systems
  • Structural subsystems
  • Thermal control systems
  • Genuine interest in Space technologies and Astronomy.

What we offer:

  • On-site work across our locations in Bydgoszcz and Zielonka (near Bydgoszcz),
  • Employment contract (UoP) or B2B, with the employment model determined on a case-by-case basis depending on local regulations and feasibility.
  • Compensation package:
  • Poland:  PLN 13,000-17,000 PLN gross per month (employment contract) or PLN 100-130 net per hour (B2B).
  • European Union: EUR 4500-5800 gross per month (employment contract) EUR 35-45 net per hour (B2B)
  • Flexible working hours
  • Private medical care (e.g. Luxmed)
  • Sports package (e.g. Multisport)
  • Training budget and access to internal training sessions
  • Opportunity to work on cutting-edge space and satellite technologies
  • Direct impact on the development of advanced space systems used in operational environmentsÂ
